Director

Responsible for the operation and instructional leadership at a daycare preschool facility, trains and supervises staff, sets instructional objectives, and works to build a rapport with parents.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Maintain full enrollment
  • Collection of tuition payments
  • Enforces center rules
  • Manage day-to-day activities at preschool
  • Create instructional resources for use in the classrooms
  • Develop academic programs

Assistant Director

We are looking for an Assistant Director, who will have the following responsibilities below:

Primary responsibilities:

  • Maintain full enrollment
  • Build and maintain a trusting relationship with the parents and children
  • Offer emotional and practical support to parents and their families
  • Help plan creative and innovative responses to family’s needs and keep high quality service
  • Attend conferences, review meetings, supervision and training sessions as requested

Clerk

The clerk position creates financial transactions and generates reports from that information. The creation of financial transactions includes posting information to accounting journals or accounting software from such source documents as invoices to customers, cash receipts, and supplier invoices. The bookkeeper also reconciles accounts to ensure their accuracy and is also responsible for performing clerical and administrative duties in an office setting. Assists executive assistants and secretaries by sorting mail, filing, answering phones, and scheduling meetings. Some responsibilities may include:

Primary responsibilities:

  • Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner
  • Ensure that receivables are collected promptly
  • Record cash receipts and make bank deposits
  • Issue financial statements
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
  • Monitor office supply levels and reorder as necessary
  • Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner
  • Issue invoices to customers
  • Conduct a monthly reconciliation of every bank account
  • Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
  • Maintain files and records so they remain updated and easily accessible
  • Answer the phone to take messages or redirect calls to appropriate colleagues
  • Assist in office management and organization procedures
  • Answer inquiries about the company

Cleaning Assistant

We are looking for a cleaning assistant to take care of our facility and carry out cleaning and maintenance duties. The goal is to keep our building clean and safe at this time. Some responsibilities may include:

Primary responsibilities:

  • Clean, stock and supply designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc.)
  • Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
  • Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
  • Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs
  • Stock and maintain supply rooms
  • Cooperate with the rest of the staff
  • Follow all health and safety regulations
  • Cover daycare classroom coverage.
  • Proven working experience as a cleaner
  • Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets

Kitchen Cook

Primary responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare foods in accordance with the NJ Child Nutrition Program.
  • Assist with the purchase orders, food, and supplies necessary to prepare the planned menus for the number of enrolled children and program staff.
  • Assist with the meal plans far enough ahead to minimize the need for food substitutions; when substitutions are necessary, with prior approval, purchases and serves food of equivalent nutritional value. With guidance from the Nutritionist, modifies menus for children’s field trips; notes all modifications and substitutes on posted menu and for CACFP records.
  • Assist with the preparation of meals and snacks in such a way that a minimum of nutrients are lost from foods, that ensure foods taste good and look appealing, and that there are ample amounts of foods for children to have as many servings as they need.
  • Maintains established standards of sanitation, safety and food preparation and storage as set by the local and state health departments; maintains an orderly, sanitary, and safe kitchen.
  • With the guidance of the contracted Nutritionist, modifies menus and recipes and prepares foods to meet the developmental needs of infants and toddlers and the medical and feeding needs of children with disabilities or food allergies.
  • Delivers foods from the kitchen to the classrooms ready to be served as suitable for the children’s age and development. (See guidance)
  • Shares duties with the Assistant Cook(s) (if any) for efficient functioning of the food service program.
  • Maintains cost control, budget and inventory systems based on CAFCP procedures including records of food production, service and attendance.
  • Assures the proper care and maintenance of all food service equipment; identifies equipment needs for food preparation and service and assists in purchasing as needed.
  • Assists teachers with developing food activities for the children in the classroom.
  • Cooperates with and participates in nutrition education activities for staff, parents and children.
  • Participates in all emergency drills and environmental safety activities.
  • Attends and participates in grantee-sponsored training, center pre-service and in-service training, and other continuing education, career and professional development opportunities.
  • Participates in the agency’s self-evaluation process and grantee monitoring visits and complies with any applicable Program Improvement Plans developed.
  • Participates in general staff meetings and other meetings and events planned by the grantee and delegate agency as requested.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Daycare Worker

Primary responsibilities:

  • Caring for children ages 0 – 13 years.
  • Using creative, hands-on methods of learning, such as artistic expression, free play, and storytelling to help promote healthy learning patterns.
  • Encouraging and monitoring social interactions between children.
  • Supervising children outside of class time, such as during lunch, out on the playground, or on field trips.
  • Making sure that the classroom is clean, safe, and well-organized.
  • Setting up the materials and work spaces required for class activities.
  • Communicating with parents to learn more about each child’s life outside the classroom and having an open field of communication.
  • Creating reports to inform parents about their children’s progress at the center.
